Director of Operations Meet the Dayton Aviation Team
Meet the instructors and operations crew who help students plan lessons, prepare for checkrides, return to flying, and keep the schoolhouse moving.
Our Team
The People Behind the Training
Flight training works best when the school communicates clearly and keeps lessons organized. Our team supports students from first lesson planning through certificate work, rental checkout, and ongoing proficiency.

A Flight School Built Around Instruction
Rich Cox founded Dayton Aviation Services in 2018 at historic Moraine Airpark, building the school around practical instruction, aircraft access, and a training culture that treats flying as something students can keep in their lives.
His aviation path started in Dayton with a Private Pilot certificate through the Wright-Patterson Aero Club in 1999. By 2001, Rich was instructing professionally, working with Air Force and Navy Initial Screening pilots as well as civilian students.
As a CFII, MEI, and A&P, Rich brings both cockpit and maintenance perspective to the schoolhouse. His instructing experience spans Northern California, Colorado Springs, Pensacola and Milton, the DC/Maryland FRZ, and a fourteen-month stretch in the South of France, giving students the benefit of varied aircraft, airspace, and training environments.
